Always Aphrodite by Lauren Maxwell

Lauren Maxwell, an American writer, storyteller, theater performer, and playwright, brings her thirty years of diverse theater experience—including musical theater, improvisational comedy, drama, storytelling, and burlesque—to her compelling work. With a dark sense of humour and a love for storytelling, Lauren has spent nine years honing her craft in the Netherlands, attending the Professional Storytelling School at Mezrab in Amsterdam and participating in events like the Netherlands Film Festival. Her talent has led to her first play being performed by Downstage Left and acceptance into the Edinburgh Free Fringe for 2024.
“Always Aphrodite,” a captivating theatre-storytelling performance created, produced, written, and performed by Lauren Maxwell (and co-directed with Phillip Melchers), explores the complex nature of love through the tales of the Goddess Aphrodite.
